Welcome to
Our School
Feniscowles Primary School is a thriving school with a strong reputation. It has been my privilege to be headteacher since September 2020.
All schools have their own distinctive culture and ethos, which makes each one unique. We believe that our distinctive culture is rooted in a shared understanding of 'The Feniscowles Way'.

In Art, Year 1 have been exploring spirals and experimenting with different media to create their very own spiral masterpieces. The creativity and focus has been amazing and we are so proud of our impressive artists. #Year1 #primaryschoolart
What a fantastic afternoon we've had in Year 2! We visited Rosebay Wood to create our very own nature-inspired art, taking inspiration from the work of artist Andy Goldsworthy. Just like him, we used natural objects such as leaves, twigs, stones, and leaves to form our artwork. Working in groups of four, we followed our school values of respect and inclusion, collaborating thoughtfully and making sure everyone's ideas were heard and valued. The children showed great teamwork and creativity, and the results were truly beautiful!
What. A. Brilliant. Day. Our year 5 trips to London to see the Houses of Parliament are underway with Ospreys class visiting this week and Woodpeckers next! It was indeed long but, so very worth it! We saw lots of famous capital city landmarks before heading off to Westminster. It really was fascinating- for both the children and staff! We got to learn how laws are made and visit the real-life House Of Lords and House of Commons. Thanks to all of our families, children, parent helpers and staff for the early start and late finish! Thanks also to our coach company Moving People for the exceptional service!
Our Year 6 children have been working hard learning the 'Cha Cha Cha' and the progress has been fantastic! They've shown great teamwork, rhythm and confidence as they take to the dance floor. With smiles all around, it's been wonderful to see their enthusiasm shine! Strictly Feniscowles is in full swing - and we think it's a 10 from us!
Key Stage 2 have been busy delivering their inspiring speeches for House Captain and Vice Captain! Every candidate showed incredible confidence, passion, and determination and we are beyond proud of them all. The votes are in... and the lucky candidates will be revealed next week! Stay tuned to find out who will be leading their houses this year!
We were thrilled to welcome Olympic gymnast @bethtweddlenews1 to our school today! She inspired us all by sharing her journey, success stories, and the importance of staying determined when chasing our goals. Gymfinity Club Kids are offering free taster sessions at St Bedes on Sunday 21st September... Check out @gymfinitykids for more information
