Welcome to
Our School
Feniscowles Primary School is a thriving school with a strong reputation. It has been my privilege to be headteacher since September 2020.
All schools have their own distinctive culture and ethos, which makes each one unique. We believe that our distinctive culture is rooted in a shared understanding of 'The Feniscowles Way'.

What an incredible achievement for our girls' netball team! On Tuesday, our talented team competed in the finals, taking on five strong teams throughout the day. The girls were outstanding, remaining undefeated in all of their matches. Their fantastic performance meant they finished 1st overall and have now secured their place in the Lancashire Final, where they will proudly represent Blackburn with Darwen. We are immensely proud of every player for their determination, teamwork, resilience, and sportsmanship. They are a credit to Feniscowles and have demonstrated what can be achieved through hard work and commitment. Congratulations, you have been absolutely amazing! We wish you the very best of luck in the Lancashire Final. Go and smash it, girls!
What a fantastic Upper Key Stage 2 Sports Day! The children had an amazing time and should be incredibly proud of themselves. They showed endeavour, teamwork and sportsmanship, giving their very best effort in every event and encouraging one another along the way. A special congratulations to Star and Sun Houses, who finished as joint winners – a brilliant achievement! Thank you to all the parents and carers who joined us to support the children. Well done to all of our pupils for representing their houses so positively and making the morning such a success. We are very proud of you all!
Democracy Week | Half Term Highlight This half term, our children didn't just learn about democracy they lived it. We were proud to host an official polling station in The Nest, our outdoor building, open on national polling day. Alongside the local community casting their votes, our KS2 pupils took part in their own school elections, complete with polling booths and ballot papers, returning officer, candidates, campaigning and counting. The process was led brilliantly by our House Captains, who ensured every vote was conducted with the seriousness and care it deserved. We were also delighted to welcome our MP, Adnan Hussain, who visited to see democracy in action and speak with our pupils about the importance of participation in public life. Our newly elected School Council hit the ground running. Entrusted with an initial budget of £5,000 to develop our KS2 home reading offer, they sat down straight away with Mrs Brockbank to begin planning how best to invest it on behalf of their peers. Watch this space. We have a feeling this is just the beginning. It was a privilege to watch our children demonstrate such responsibility, integrity and purpose, and a wonderful reminder of what a Feniscowles education looks like beyond the classroom. We wish all of our families a restful and enjoyable half term break. Striving for Excellence
Wow, what a wonderful day we've had in Year 1! The rain held off and we had the best time at Blackpool Zoo. From seeing the adorable baby elephants, taking part in exciting animal workshops, visiting the penguins, and even spotting some cheeky escapee lemurs, there was excitement everywhere we turnéd! The children were absolutely fantastic all day long and were a real credit to the school. Their behaviour, enthusiasm and curiosity made us all so proud. We are sure there will be lots of sleepy children tonight after such a fun-filled day making special memories together!
A very happy 100th birthday to Sir David Attenborough from everyone at Feniscowles Primary School. What an incredible inspiration he is to us all! Don't forget to help us celebrate the 100th birthday of David Attenborough by taking part in a nature-inspired activity at home! You could plant seeds, go on a nature walk, do a litter pick, create recycled art, draw your favourite animal, and much more. Please share your photos on Dojo or bring your creations into school before 11th May for show and tell. Winners chosen by the Eco Warriors will receive a special treat!

We are incredibly proud to share that our wonderful Amelia has successfully achieved a scholarship to Westholme School, where she will be continuing her journey in September. Amelia has truly shone during her time at Feniscowles Primary, particularly in the performing arts. Her confidence, creativity and commitment have made her stand out, and she has embraced every opportunity to perform with enthusiasm and joy. Amelia, you are a fantastic role model and a real star of our school. We have loved watching you grow and develop, and we know that you will continue to fly as you take this exciting next step.
