    Teaching Assistant

    We are seeking to appoint an exceptional Teaching Assistant join our school in September; to provide a supportive, stimulating learning environment and to share our high expectations of achievement for all our children. The successful applicant will work in the classroom and provide welfare support at lunchtimes supporting the class teacher and assisting in meeting the personal, social and educational needs of all our children.

    We are looking for an individual who:

    • has experience of working with children with SEN
    • will be an enthusiastic person who enjoys working with children and uses their own initiative
    • value innovation, creativity and have high ambition

    Teaching Assistant

    We are looking to appoint an experienced Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated support team at Feniscowles Primary School. We require someone who is confident in supporting an individual with special educational needs. The role is to work with a current KS2 pupil demonstrating social interaction difficulties and requires support with communication skills.

    The school is looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant who has strong behavioural management techniques and can help the pupil concentrate and access the curriculum. The successful applicant will work in the classroom and provide welfare support at lunchtimes supporting the class teacher and assisting in meeting the personal, social and educational needs of all our children.

    • has experience of working with children with SEN; in particular working with children who have autism.

    Welfare Assistant

    We are seeking to appoint an experienced and enthusiastic welfare assistant to join our dedicated support team at lunchtimes.

    The successful candidate will:

    • Be enthusiastic and committed to working with the support team
    • Be flexible in their approach to work
    • Be actively involved in the supervision of playground games and activities with our children

    Volunteering in School

    If have some spare time and would like an opportunity to make a difference in school or, you are thinking of a change of career and would like some experience to see whether a role in education is what you are looking for, then volunteering at Feniscowles could be for you! 

    We are currently looking for volunteers to help in school, duties would include:

    • Listen to our children read – it is important our children develop fluency and understanding in their reading;  you would be helping develop this by encouraging the children to discuss the book they are reading, describe the characters, what has happened and what may happen, to demonstrate their understanding.
    • Administration support – supporting teachers; photocopying or helping set the classroom up for lessons.
    • Assisting in the classroom during lessons.
    • Accompany the staff and children on trips, if you are available.
